Bachata
Bachata arose around the middle of the 20th century and has steadily become one of the most popular Latin dances. It originated in the Dominican Republic and Caribbean with Afro Cuban groups. It is a playful, romantic dance and is danced to popular Latin music like Romeo Santos and Prince Royce.
West Coast Swing
West Coast Swing is an American dance that is danced to contemporary, blues, soul and jazz music. It is one of the most flexible dances and improvisation is an important part of the dance. Because of the varying types of music it is danced to the speeds can range from slow to fast. Passionate Argentine Tango, romantic Bachata, Salsa and the cool moves of West Coast Swing.
Salsa
Salsa originated in the 1900s in Cuba, where rhythms from the two main existing styles of music in the region (Cuban Son and Afro-Cuban rumba) were combined to create a new dance. This new rhythm was combined with American Jazz and taken to New York by Cuban musicians. Salsa has since become popular world wide on dance floors.
Argentine Tango
The Argentine Tango originated in the streets of Buenos Aires Argentina. The art of Tango dancing is to match the speed and emotion of the music while improvising the steps.
Lindy Hop
Lindy Hop is an African American dance, which originates from Harlem, New York City. It was danced first in the famous Savoy Ballroom by African American dancers in 1928, and was danced throughout the 1930s and 1940s. It has fast and slow tempos and is danced primary to jazz music.
